Portea Medical has now teamed up with Cumbala Hill Hospital and Heart Institute to ensure that its post operative cardiac patients will now have access to post-operative care delivered in the comfort of their own homes.
“Post cardiac surgery, recovery can be a long drawn out process taking many months or even years. Effective care, post-surgery, requires different interventions from a range of medical professionals. We are delighted to have found the right partner in Portea so our patients can continue to receive high quality medical care and support even after they have been discharged from our hospital,” said Dr. Niraj Uttamani, CEO Cumbala Hill Hospital.
“Our core attention at Cumbala Hill Hospital is on tertiary care in cardiology, cardiac surgery, laparoscopic surgery, high end urological, Eye, ENT surgeries and hip and knee replacement surgeries. We would like to maintain our focus on advanced surgeries with minimum invasion, so that the cost and stay in the hospital is reduced. Therefore having an effective home medical care partner like Portea is critical for us,” he added.
The services that Portea will provide to patients of Cumbala Hill Hospital include remote ECG monitoring, chest physiotherapy, care of post surgical wounds, assistance with activities of daily living such as maintaining patient hygiene, change of clothing, help with resumption of physical activities, advise on diet and nutrition plan, administering medicine etc.
The services will be delivered by Portea Medical’s doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and nursing attendants. Also, Portea Medical’s ancillary services such as medical equipment on hire, medicine delivery and collection of lab samples from home, will be made available to patients.
“Typically cardiac surgery patients have to make several lifestyle changes. Their movements are also severely restricted. Portea’s mission is to deliver care with compassion in a home care setting,” said Meena Ganesh, co-founder & CEO, Portea Medical.
Portea’s services encompassing geriatric care, post-operative care, palliative care and physiotherapy are built around care plans that are specifically developed to cater for needs of individual patients.
