TN IDMA to hold ‘Pharmac South-2015’ to promote business growth of SMEs in South

The Tamil Nadu branch of the Indian Drug manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) in association with Orbit Exhibitions, Mumbai will organise a unique pharma industry expo 'Pharmac South 2015' on July 3-4 in Chennai in order to help the small and medium scale pharma manufacturing companies in the south Indian states. The event will be supported by Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil).

The two-day event, the second one in Tamil Nadu, is aimed to showcase south Indian pharmaceutical industry’s capabilities as a fast growing manufacturing hub for contract manufacturing for all kinds of pharmaceutical products, neutraceuticals, veterinary drugs, herbal products, and Indian system of medicines. The event is expected to attract about 4000 visitors from all over India and neighboring countries.

While briefing Pharmabiz about the mega event, M Rajaratinam and S V P S. Shivanandan, the office-bearers of the expo, said more than 100 exhibitors will participate in this year’s exhibition. Major formulation companies in the south will exhibit their products in the expo and they will get chances to meet and interact with product managers and marketing managers of big players at one place. They said the response for stall booking from various companies is quite good.

S V P S. Shivanandan, the vice-chairman of the organizing committee said that in the last year’s expo, all the exhibitors were benefited immensely.  Exhibitors who had participated last year have now got registered for this year also. They will get opportunities for one-to-one meeting with various companies in the north. He said the south Indian pharma companies have a reputation  for manufacture of quality products and better delivery schedule.

“This year we are targeting exhibitors from Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka and Kerala. The event will provide the exhibitors a single window system to expand their business activities and exports. Pharmexcil will help them to learn about the regulatory requirements of other countries and how files and samples should be submitted. All the MNCs in the Asian countries are expected this year”, he added.
