Hyderabad based eKincare has invested Rs.2 crore to provide a digital health platform that enables users to track their health and store their health records free of cost in the digital format. Initially the company is focusing on gathering healthcare database of population in Hyderabad and later it is expected to extend its platform to the other major cities in the country.

According to Kiran K Kalakuntal, founder and CEO of eKincare, every individual can register and open a free healthcare account similar to a gmail or a facebook account and can upload the scanned copies of their healthcare records and store it securely on the eKincare platform. “In India, the availability of the proper database pertaining to the disease profile of the population is lacking because of which the governments, policy makers and the researchers have been failing in their effort to form a strong healthcare policy for the country. Our short term goal is to establish a reliable disease profile database for Hyderabad, once this is successful we will scale it up to the entire country,” said Kiran.

Established in November this year eKincare had started initially with a capital of Rs.10 lakhs and has been gradually growing with 50-150 new customers registering to the database of this unique healthcare platform.

The free personal health record account from eKincare allows users to not just store all their medical records at one place, but also helps them to keep track of their health better and make informed decisions. The platform has a proprietary recommendation algorithm that helps spot major health risks early through a health check at the doorsteps of the customers. The platform also designed to gather medical results from various healthcare providers and update profiles.

“A platform like eKincare not only helps individuals to track their health better but also helps us doctors diagnose patient’s condition faster and treat better by assisting us to have a more comprehensive view into their medical history”, says Dr Unnikrishnan, medical advisor, eKincare.

A significant aspect of this digital healthcare platform is that it is being offered free of cost for users with no limits on the data or number of records stored. eKincare is currently offering free health check-ups at home along with digitization of medical records.
