Our Bureau, MumbaiMonday, April 13, 2015, 16:15 Hrs  [IST]

The UAE-based Aster DM Healthcare offered immediate assistance for employment to Indian nurses rescued from Yemen. Spearheaded by Dr Azad Moopen, this initiative is open for recruitment at all healthcare units of Aster DM Healthcare including Aster Medcity, Kochi, MIMS Hospitals at Calicut and Kottakkal, and DM WIMS Medical College Hospital in Wayanad.

A large number of nurses from India were trapped in the civil war at Yemen. With the gallantry act of the Indian navy and the Indian Air Force, around 4000 Indians were evacuated out of Yemen and nearly 50 per cent of the nurses were rescued and brought home safe and sound. Although the nurses returned from Yemen, their future remained uncertain with financial problems and job loss.

For registration of the job offers a dedicated cell has been opened at Aster Medcity in Cheranallur, Kochi. Additionally, for those interested to return to the Middle East, the group will try its best to accommodate them in their hospitals and clinics in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia if they fulfill the local licensing requirements.
