Omkar Speciality Chemicals bags order worth Rs. 100 crore

Omkar Speciality Chemicals Ltd (OSCL), a leading manufacturer of inorganic and organic intermediates and active pharmaceuticals ingredients (APIs), has received orders close to Rs. 100 crore from its customers in India as well as from different geographies. The company is fully geared up with the help of its existing capacities to take care of the market demands during the current year.

With its newly developed products and also various approvals received from its customers, the company has received concrete indents in the month of April, 2015. OSCL scrip moved up by Rs. 7.30 today and closed at Rs. 149.40 on BSE.

OSCL (including its wholly owned subsidiaries) has 9 units in the Maharashtra, (5 units in Badlapur, Dist: Thane, 3 units in Chiplun, Dist: Ratnagiri and one Unit in Mahad, Dist: Raigad) with a total volumetric installed capacity of 4920 MTPA.

Omkar Herlekar, whole-time director, said “Current order of Rs. 100 crore shows our manufacturing strength in intermediates and API’s and we look forward to get further orders as well.”

The company has filed for 14 application patents of which 2 have been granted and the rest awaits approval. It exports its products to about 38 countries, including regulated markets such as Europe, North America, South America, China and other Asian countries and has a diverse customer base from different industry segments like pharmaceutical, chemical, glass, cosmetics, ceramic pigments, animal and poultry feeds etc.

Headquartered at Thane district, OSCL has over 1100 employees. Its product segments include iodine compounds, selenium compounds, intermediates, resolving agents and others (Molybdenum, Cobalt, and Bismuth) and APIs which comprises of more than 200 products. OSCL is certified with STAR Export House ISO 9001:2008 and FAMI-QS & GMP.
