Institute of Health Management Research, Bengaluru has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Society of Emergency Medical Services, Maharashtra to provide certificate program in integrated training and skill up gradation of medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals in hospital and healthcare organization.
The pact was inked keeping in mind the sudden need of trained professional healthcare providers in the industry.
“With an exponential growth of 40% expected in the healthcare and hospital sector over the next five years, it is highly crucial to improve the capabilities of both by establishing a good system of training and skill up gradation of the existing professionals. This is where IHMR Bengaluru will play a crucial role. Doctors, administrators, pharmacists, nurses and other premedical employees can take up this programme to improve their leadership and management skills. With hospital operation is getting complicated with many new processes like quality accreditation, patient safety measures, patient satisfaction, IT in healthcare practices, regular and relevant training of the healthcare professionals is becoming very critical, said Dr Biranchi N Jena, director, IHMR Bengaluru.
Confirming the need of training for working professionals in the healthcare sector, Dr Rajendra Jagtap, president, EMS Society, Maharashtra said that currently there is a paucity of qualified managers in the private healthcare sector of Maharashtra and with severe management and administrative challenges, a structured orientation among the existing healthcare professionals will enable us to overcome the dearth and ensure a smooth functioning.”
Based on the MoU, IIHMR, Bengaluru and EMS Society Maharashtra with support of leading hospitals would provide a 3 days programme on healthcare leadership, 3 days programme in hospital management as well as an integrated programme of 6 days combining the both.
