Credited to have provided home care visits to more than 8,000 patients in oncology, pulmonology, post-operative and in critical and palliative care, HealthCare at Home (HCAH), a leading ultra quality home care services provider instrumental in giving a boost to the home healthcare segment within one year of its existence in Jaipur now plans to extend its footprint to other cities of Rajasthan.

Driven by a desire to make world-class healthcare services in the comfort of homes, available to more Indians, HCAH is a joint-venture between the Burman family, the promoters of India’s leading natural health care products maker Dabur, and Dr Gareth Jones and Charles Walsh, the founders of the UK-based Healthcare At Home (HAH).

Since launching its operations in the city last year, the company has provided service to 500 + clients ranging from cancer patients, people recovering from surgeries, elderly as well as critically ill patients.

“HCAH started providing its exemplary homecare services in Jaipur over a year back and has drawn a very good response from patients and doctors alike. Such was the paucity and requirement of good quality home care services that the response surpassed our expectations. Now, HCAH is ready to increase its footprint in Rajasthan with its unique services that provide much of the hospital-like facilities at home and allow people with acute, chronic and sometimes terminal diseases to get treated and cared for in the comfort of their homes,” says, Vivek Srivastava, chief executive officer, HealthCare at Home.

In many ways, the idea has been a game-changer in the city’s healthcare landscape. It has allowed patients to cut financial costs and continue to receive best quality care. At the same time, HCAH services also help to reduce burden on hospitals and vacate beds for more critically ill patients.

Working alongside with patients’ doctor to offer high-end, clinically credible treatment to the patients in the comfortable premises of their homes, HCAH’s unmatched homecare facilities have changed the way people look at chronic ailments and their treatments.

“The concept of high quality healthcare at home is yet to catch up big time in India. However, our services in a few cities of the country have succeeded in changing perceptions. People have today started believing that it is possible to receive good care for even critically ill patients at home. World class training, high degree of infection control mechanisms and care with love and respect are our top priorities. HCAH provides home services to people undergoing chemotherapy, patients requiring ICU, critical post operative care, physiotherapy, among others,” says Dr Gareth Jones, chairman, Healthcare at Home.

HCAH has also provided very good post operative care to a number of patients in Jaipur, including patients who have undergone orthopedic, cardiac, bariatric surgeries. “Setting up of ICU facilities at home makes HCAH stand out. This also dramatically reduces the risk of hospital-acquired infections. Understanding the need for special care for senior citizens in the Jaipur, HCAH has also successfully provided specialized elderly care and companionship to them. Our services have grown by positive word of mouth,” says, Dr Gaurav Thukarl, head, Medical Services, HealthCare at Home.

"We are seeing demand and growth in other cities of Jaipur as well.” says Abhishek Mallik, unit head, Healthcare at Home, Jaipur. Rajasthan has massive need for home healthcare. Patients and families are suffering due to the lack of advanced home healthcare support. As HCAH being one of the advanced; technologically upgraded services has decided to extend its wing in Udaipur, Bikaner and Ganganagar.

The backbone of the company is its experienced trained staff (nurses, HCAs and physiotherapists) who after joining HCAH embark on a rigorous six-weeks training. HCAH invests in excellent IT platform and technologically advanced international equipment which is necessary to provide cohesive treatment at home. HCAH’s healthcare providers at all times keep the treating doctor in the loop.
