IPC 67th edition to be held in Mysore from December 19 to 21, 2015

The 67th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) will be held at JSS University in Mysore from December 19 to 21, 2015. The event is being hosted by the Indian Hospital Pharmacist Association. The theme of the three-day exposition is, ‘Pharma Vision 2020: Pharmacist for healthy India’.

The details of the chairperson of the event and among other details are yet to be finalised. However the Scientific Committee for the 67th IPC is led by Dr. TK Ravi, convener, supported by Dr A Ramkishan co-convener, Dr KPR Chowdary, co-convener. The other members are Kaushik Desai, Dr B Jayakar, Dr H G Shivakumar, Dr G K Rao, Dr M Sreenivasa Reddy, Dr M Ramanathan, Dr Atmaram Pawar, Dr Raman Dang, Dr Swarnlata Saraf, Dr S P Dhanabal, Dr S Krishnan and Dr B Rajalingam.

While the agenda of the 3-day scientific programme is yet to be announced along with the speakers list, the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) has now called for paper presentation from August 1 to September 15, 2015. On October 31, 2015 the list of accepted entries will be announced and the best papers will be presented as Oral Presentations or e–Posters.

In this regard, the Scientific Services Committee has now invited the industry and the academia to submit findings of original scientific work for presentation during the Congress with the aim to disseminate knowledge and facilitate the exchange of new ideas among the members of pharmacy profession.

The topics for the paper presentation are Pharmaceutical Technology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Indigenous Drugs, Herbal Formulations and Phytochemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance, Biotechnology and Biotherapeutics Hospital, Community and Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Education and Professional Pharmacy, Drug Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Management, besides Pharmacoeconomics and Pharmacoepidemiology.

Incidentally, Dr B Suresh, president, Pharmacy Council of India is the vice-chancellor of the JSS University in Mysore. Under the aegis of the JSS University is the JSS Pharmacy College and the Medical College. JSS Pharmacy College has been a hub for many Indian and international research collaborations.
