Pharmalytica 2015, the two-day industry meet held in Hyderabad had pitched up on optimising potentials of current pharma landscape in the country. As the Indian pharmaceutical industry is fast transforming itself to comply with international regulatory standards in all respects, industry leaders have urged for taking advantage of evolving landscape of the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector in the country.
With over more than 100 exhibitors participating from all over India, the second edition of Pharmalytica in Hyderabad had given an apt platform for the analytical and contract service providers from the industry. The two-day event was inaugurated by Madan Mohan Reddy, vice-chairman, Pharmexcil, & whole-time director of Aurobindo Pharma. Dr. P V Appaji, director general, Pharmexcil, and Yogesh Mudras, acting managing director of UBM India were also present during the inauguration.
This year’s Pharmalytica witnessed exhibitors from across analytical, contracting, biotechnology and quality control sectors, including key companies like Airpac Filters & Systems Pvt. The Innovation Gallery and the Brand India pavilion by Pharmexcil were the main highlights of the show. The event was also marked by a conference with industry deliberations by key experts such as, Venkat Manohar, director, IICMS; G Sundar, director, Pharmaqa Compliance Services; Rajni Jha, independent consultant; Sumathi Rao, head - Analytical, Aurobindo Pharma and Vasudev Jakhaniya, head – Trace Analytical Lab.
Some of topics of discussion on the first day included, strategies on preventing the regulatory deficiencies, addressing dossier review deficiencies, strategies on avoiding and handling deficiencies, latest methods of analytical techniques for quantification of extractables and leachables etc. “The pharma companies should understand about the latest machinery, instrumentation and improved analytical techniques which will further enable them to implement quality testing methodologies and bring cost efficiencies, thus leading to increase in exports from India. Events like this really help pharma companies to build networking and grow their business,” opined Dr. Appaji during the event.
