EasyB, a company based at Alzano Lombardo in Italy and engaged in organising conventions, conferences, seminars and symposia concerning current topics related to the fields of pharmaceutical and biomedical research, has invited the managing director of Tamil Nadu based pharmacovigilance company, Oviya Medsafe, located in Coimbatore, to attend the UK Pharmacovigilance Day 2015 programme to be held in London on October 19, 2015.
Dr. Vijay Venkataraman, the drug safety physician and MD of the company from Coimbatore, has also been asked to chair the conference for conducting the Day’s proceedings, according to the invitation sent to him by the organiser.
He said the programme will be attended by safety experts from the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, drugs and medical devices companies, biotech firms, government agencies and academic research wing.
Talking to Pharmabiz, Dr Venkatraman, who is basically a diabetologist, said UK Pharmacovigilance Day programme primarily focuses on sharing best practices, results and experiences of experts in the field of pharmacovigilance. Earlier he was conferred the Fellowship of the Pharmaceutical Information & Pharmacovigilance Association (PIPA), UK.
Following the programme, he will deliver a speech on the topic ‘South India - an attractive and emerging global pharmaceutical hub’, at the UK South India Business Meet 2015 slated for November 5 this year at the UK Parliament in London.
The British South India Council for Commerce (BSICC), an independent trade body headquartered in Essex in UK, which promotes trade and relations between UK and India has written to him to attend the business meet representing his company. The event is the 13th meet of this series and is organised by BSICC. The programme is held at the UK Parliament for the last several years.
According to sources from the organiser, Dr. Venkataraman has been invited to speak on the pharmaceutical sector because of his excellent track record in the area of pharmaceutical services.
