In line with the ‘Make in India’ vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Madhya Pradesh state branch of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA-MP) is organising ‘IPA-MP Conclave and a unique Pharma Tech Expo' on October 30,31 and November 1 in Indore.

The event is primarily aimed to display the latest technologies in the indigenously manufactured pharmaceutical machineries and their potential use in the Indian pharma and laboratory testing areas. About 100 Indian pharmaceutical machine manufacturers will display their state-of-the-art equipment and technology in the three days programme.

Seminars and panel discussions on various subjects have been arranged as part of the event in order to help the small and medium scale pharma manufacturing companies and exporters in Madhya Pradesh. The three days conclave-cum-expo will be supported by Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) and the Indore Chemists and Druggists Association (ICDA), said Dr. S. B. Rijwani, president of MP-IPA.

He said the seminars are designed to impart knowledge to small scale pharma entrepreneurs about WHO-GMP facility and its technical upgradation. There are more than 100 medium and small scale pharma units in MP in addition to those in the SEZ area of Indore where more than ten US FDA approved companies are operating, he said.

In the conclave and in the WHO-GMP seminars, all the five divisions of the IPA will have separate forums for elaborate discussion with the industry people. The programme will be conducted at Brilliant Convention Centre at Vijay Nagar in Indore. This is the first time an IPA-MP conclave is being held in Indore.

Dr. Rijwani, who is the organising committee chairman of the event, said the seminar is also aimed to highlight the norms of USFDA. The visitors in the expo include pharma manufacturers, machinery manufacturers and laboratory testing machine manufacturers who will display the latest technology in the expo.

Targeting the hospital pharmacists, a separate seminar on pharmaceutical care has also been planned. Besides, there will be industry-academia interaction in order to promote chances of job opportunities for the upcoming pharmacists. State Council of Science and Technology, SIDBI and the state department of Ayush are also supporting the event, he told Pharmabiz.
