Apollo Health & Lifestyle Limited (Apollo), a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Hospital Enterprise Limited and Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare (Ramsay) have collaborated to offer diabetes care to people in Malaysia. This partnership is aimed at reducing the burden of disease for the people of Malaysia which accounts 3.2 million diabetics.
The new centre will be known as Apollo Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Centre for Obesity, Diabetes and Endocrinology (ARCODE). The centre would offer a full range of world class outpatient, inpatient, and a comprehensive set of supporting services to address diabetes.
The partnership will work to pool in expertise to provide care for diabetes in Malaysia. The strategic intent is to start these services in Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care owned hospitals, and expand across neighbourhood clinics.
Both Apollo and Ramsay aim to work closely with local communities to improve screening, early detection, awareness and management of diabetes amongst the general population.
“We will now to bring our expertise to care for diabetic patients in Malaysia. Speaking on the occasion, Dato Dr Jacob Thomas, chairman, Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care, said that this partnership with Apollo represents a significant milestone for our two leading care delivery organisations to come together to provide world class, evidence based care to people with diabetes across Malaysia. We will begin this collaboration with a state-of-the-art centre of excellence to be set up in Subang Jaya Medical Centre, our flagship hospital.
