Taking into account the increasing serious health problems of women all over the world, and the immense scope of myriad types of treatments available in the traditional system of Ayurveda, the practitioners and researchers of the system are planning to hold discussions and international seminars to evolve a set of guidelines for classical treatments and researches in the Ayurveda system for gynaecology and other women related health issues.

The masters of Ayurveda will also ponder over innovative ideas to develop more effective classical formulations and to encourage fruitful researches to address the health issues of the woman community. The deliberations of the Ayurveda experts of international repute will be held at the third Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) to be held in Kozhikodu in Kerala from January 31 to February 4.

According to sources, an exclusive seminar on women’s health is planned as part of the Ayurveda festival, which will be a platform for the practitioners, students, faculties and researchers to share ideas and experiences. The festival will also provide facilities for exhibiting classical and patented drugs which are proved effective in women’s health.

“We take the responsibility to promote the role of Ayurveda in women’s health as the focus theme for the GAF 2016. The scope of Ayurveda in women’s health will be presented and discussed in five levels. A panel of experts from governmental and non-governmental sectors will discuss and frame policies for making Ayurveda care available for the health issues of women in India’, sources added.

The five-day Ayurveda festival will also cover several seminars drawing experts from foreign countries, and the most important among them is the discussion on the problems faced by the practising Ayurveda physicians. Similarly, the issues of the Ayurveda student community also become a subject matter for discussion in a separate seminar.

Another significant session is the plenary on ‘Ayurveda biology’ which is a unique idea to make immense contributions to the gross development of traditional medicines.

Giving new impetus for promoting Ayush products in the international arena, the global festival will organize 2 days International Business Meet (IBM). It will discuss the scope for exporting Ayurveda and herbal products from India to foreign markets. Potential importers and traders, industry associations and consultants in the field of Ayurveda, herbal products, dietary supplements and neutraceuticals from across the world will be invited into the IBM.
