The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted an additional patent, patent number 9292623 to Graematter. With this issuance, Graematter has expanded the depth and strength of the company's patent portfolio for its Regulatory Intelligence System.

Graematter, an Open Data company, developed the first Regulatory Intelligence System that goes beyond traditional regulatory information systems.  Open Data refers to large volumes of government information and data made available over the past several years.  The system integrates fragmented government information from numerous sources and makes it available in an easy-to-use, proprietary information system featuring advanced search capabilities and analytics.

"Everyone has heard about Big Data.  Open Data is the next data frontier to conquer," CEO Merle Symes said. "The Graematter System helps solve a huge unmet need in the medical industry created by the rapid proliferation of government regulations.  Dozens of data sources must be searched to develop effective medical product approval strategies and address other regulatory information needs.  Designed with unique cross-referencing capabilities, the Graematter System provides users with unparalleled search capabilities.  With our system, users easily perform functions never before possible such as active monitoring of the shifting regulatory environment or competitor intelligence."

"Given today's difficult climate for business-method and software patents, it is further confirmation that this is a unique, foundational invention in the rapidly emerging area of Open Data," said Melissa Walker, founder/president of Graematter. "Our system provides a significant new tool for coping with massive amounts of information and an intensifying regulatory environment."

Graematter's current mission is to speed innovative medical products to patients by providing superior regulatory intelligence that will improve the quality of medical products, regulatory submissions, and compliance.   The company expects to expand the breadth of the system offerings in early 2017.

Graematter, Inc. is an early-stage venture focused on information technology solutions for regulated environments.  Graematter was founded for the singular purpose of making it easier to access and analyze vast amounts of regulatory information with greater efficiency and accuracy.  Graematter's patented Regulatory Intelligence System provides simple, lower cost ways to better retrieve and analyze large amounts of data residing in numerous locations.
