The 1800-bed KIMS Group of Hospitals in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has now partnered with Portea Medical. Following the agreement, patients discharged from the 1,000-bed two KIMS facilities at Secunderabad and Kondapur will receive medical care that is customized to their requirements and delivered in the patient’s home.
Depending on the specific patient requirements, Portea’s will offer five components in its service model. These cover in-person medical care delivery by its doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and nursing attendants, provision of medical equipment on rental or sale, collection of lab samples and delivery of medical reports, point-of-care medical devices for continuous monitoring besides ongoing patient support via phone/chat provided by its clinicians
“KIMS has established a legacy of patient-centric care and Portea is delighted to have the opportunity to serve their patients. We believe our hospital-like care at home will encourage faster recovery for patients and enable specialists at KIMS to focus their efforts at the hospital to the treatment of patients requiring critical care,” said Meena Ganesh, MD & CEO, Portea Medical.
“Medical care delivered at home can play a key role from treating everyday illnesses, to post-surgery support, to the management of chronic diseases. Depending on the patient’s condition, ongoing care at home may be required for a few days, weeks, months or even decades,” she added.
“Since our inception, KIMS has made it our mission to provide quality care at an affordable cost. We are glad that Portea Medical shares our focus on comprehensive care. We are focused on the well-being of our patients even after they are discharged and would like to ensure all their medical needs are met on a continual basis. Our partnership with Portea is aimed to ensure this, with high quality medical care and support being made available to patients within the comfort of their own homes,” said Dr B. Abhinay, VP – Strategy, KIMS Hopsitals.
