DIA to hold 2-day Life Sciences IT-enabled business conference from Aug 19 to 20 in Bengaluru

The Drug Information Association (DIA) will organise a life sciences IT-enabled business conference from August 19 to 20, 2016  at the ITC Windsor, Bengaluru.

The life sciences industry is shifting from cost optimization to innovation. This conference aims to bring case studies and thought leadership on how IT can deliver better business outcomes. The objective of life sciences sector is to ensure ‘speed to market’ aimed towards improved quality of outcome and enhanced regulatory compliance, stated the organisers.

The two-day programme highlights leveraging digital technologies to bring efficiencies in clinical operations, IDMP (identification of medicinal products) compliance need as well as opportunities on the regulatory and safety compliance. It would also enable digital convergence, provide an overview on Clinical Data Disclosure and Transparency, indicate an innovative approach to accelerate clinical trial, Next Generation Regulatory Information Management System.

The event would also indicate challenges and current status of conducting trials in India, data transformation, regulatory recommendations, convergence of Life sciences and health-care industry, SaaS model in life-sciences and health-care, said the organisers.

The objective of the conference is to look at avenues for striking a balance between business expectations from IT and what it can do as a catalyst to deliver desired business outcomes.

At the end of the conference the participants should be able to understand the role of Big Data in research informatics to predict early success or failure of a molecule, learn about the data standards, generate know-how with respect to recent developments and advancements in areas of risk based monitoring/newer standards such as IDMP, industry preparedness and various approaches to meet this demand, said the organisers.

For the event, Naz Haji, SVP and India CRO head, Quintiles would be the guest of honour along with Ram Meenakshisundaram, SVP Global Delivery Head, Cognizant Life Sciences.

The keynote speakers are Mukesh Rathi, vice president and CIO, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and  Atanu Roy, CIO, Sun Pharmaceuticals.
