Rs. 50 cr worth deals signed at Pharma Tech Expo 2016

The ‘Pharma Tech Expo2016’, ended on August 23 at the Gujarat University Convention Centre in Ahmedabad, turned out to be a successful platform for signing substantial business deals between machinery manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies.

According to organisers, more than 40 deals worth over Rs. 50 crore were signed and negotiations for Rs. 100 crore worth deals were held at the exhibition.

Companies manufacturing machineries and equipments for pharma industry showcased their latest technologies and solutions in the exhibition organised jointly by Pharmatechnologyindex.com, B. V. Patel Pharmaceutical Education and Research Development, Gujarat, Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India and the Indo-Africa Chamber of Commerce & industry.

Ramesh Shah, chairman of Pharmatechnologyindex.com, said this expo was unique in getting businesses to the machinery manufacturers from all over India and abroad. A total of 152 companies, including ten companies from abroad, exhibited their innovative products in the technology exhibition. The exhibitors received good responses in all the three days of the event.

“We received enquiries more than expected and negotiations were also done. We are happy in participating in the expo’, said Devang Khambhavta, CEO of KSD Technologies Pvt Ltd in Ahmedabad.

Sai Mach Pharma Tech in Ahmedabad responded that the company got orders for Rs. 30 lakh in the first two days of the event.

Harshvardhan Patel, CEO of Arya Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd in Ahmedabad, said the organisers should have tried to bring big pharma players as visitors to the event as his stall was visited by small scale manufacturers. The company is manufacturing EPOXY Flooring for pharma companies.

Sunil Wargantiwar, general manager of PCI Analytics Pvt Ltd in Mumbai, responded that he got very few enquiries till on the second day. The exhibition was a good event in total.

With the presence of more equipment and machinery manufacturers from Gujarat, the expo has proved that the state is a low-cost manufacturing base of latest manufacturing technologies required for pharma industry.
