Docplexus, a doctor networking platform providing medicos seamless access to clinical insights and empowering them for better clinical decision, has plans to get over 2,00,000 doctors onboard by the end of 2016. Apart from just connecting doctors, the healthcare start-up is also working on providing doctors courses (CMEs) from both nationally and internationally reputed medical institutes.

Currently, Docplexus has over 1,50,000 doctors from 85 different specialties and super-specialties as members. “Every month we receive over 6,000 new membership requests from registered doctors. At the moment, we have over 11,000 cases shared by doctors on Docplexus. This is a huge resource for Indian doctors, who may not always share their patient cases but still can learn from cases shared by their peers,” said Phanish Chandra, CEO, Docplexus.

Apart from connecting doctors, we have initiated efforts to provide doctors courses (CMEs) from both noted medical colleges in India and abroad. We have already collaborated with AFPI (Association of Family Physicians in India), FOGSI (Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Societies of India) to take their initiatives to their members and beyond. We aim to bring more professional societies of doctors on board by the end of this year, he said.

In addition to these initiatives, we are also conducting webinars with the experts in various fields. These webinars are very popular as experts provide first hand practical knowledge to the doctors. This has been one of the most effective ways of interactions between the doctors. We already have a comprehensive architecture to sustain all our initiatives. Docplexus empowers doctors by providing them access to peer advice, expert opinion, medical guidelines and latest advances in medicine, added Docplexus CEO.

The interactions at Docplexus are not only important for doctors but they are also important for other stakeholders, especially pharma companies. Docplexus also offers a platform for pharma companies to share proprietary insights with doctors and gain their feedback in a real-time, he opined.

In seed round of funding, Docplexus raised US$ 750k from Uniqorn ventures in India and ASP Consulting from Austria. Recently it has raised additional US$ 500k with existing investors  in follow-up second seed stage.

The healthcare startup has presence over 1200 cities and towns, including metropolitan areas and tier I, II and III cities. In addition it has presence even in small villages pan-India, from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat.

“Being a mobile first, we were never limited to only large cities. In future, we want to reach every doctor in India. Considering the government of India’s Digital India initiatives, we think it is very feasible,” he concluded.
