Nova Medical Centers, a multi-specialty day care surgical centre, has appointed Sudhir Bahl as the president and chief operating officer to lead the overall operations of the company. He will be based out of Delhi and will also be the head of Max-NOVO SPV and serve on the board of the SPV. Bahl will be responsible for steering the growth of overall Nova operations in India and additionally be engaged directly in managing the doctor empanelment.

Pfizer appoints Mikael Dolsten as president of Worldwide R&D
Pfizer Inc named Mikael Dolsten, president of Pfizer Worldwide Research and Development, as the company completes its integration of these functions following the Wyeth acquisition. Dr Dolsten previously led Wyeth’s Research and Development organization from May 2008, and after the close of the Wyeth acquisition was named president of Pfizer’s BioTherapeutics R&D.
Dr Yati Chugh heads Lotus Labs
Dr Yati Chugh has been appointed as the managing director of Lotus Labs, a leading clinical research organisation. He takes over from Dr Saral Thangam.
Dr Chugh is a pharmacologist by training and has around two decades of experience in conducting Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research D. He has extensive experience in areas of CNS, CVS, Drug metabolism / Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Pharmacology. He has about 20 patents and 40 publications in National and International peer reviewed journals.

Prof K K Bhutani appointed new director of NIPER, Punjab
Professor K K Bhutani has been appointed new director of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Punjab. Professor Bhutani assumed charge on December 31, 2009. He succeeds professor P Rama Rao who held the office from July 2004 to December 2009.
