The 57th edition of API China held under the aegis of Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions at Qingdao International Exhibition Centre saw the introduction of Interphex China to create the perfect platform for pharmaceutical manufacturers to exhibit their innovative equipments and disseminate new ideas to propel the industry. Interphex China has extended the reach of API China beyond ingredients to equipment and materials. Interphex China had featured over 350 leading equipment and materials suppliers in the last year.

Interphex currently takes place in the US, Puerto Rico, UK, Japan, Singapore and India. Interphex China's arrival provides the pharmaceutical market with a convenient purchasing platform for processing and packaging equipment, materials and services. The feed back at the API China 2006 supports the combined event concept.

The event witnessed a total of 1,189 domes-tic and international exhibitors and 33,656 visitors, largely boosted by the launching of Interphex China. The event was also noted for visitors from 64 countries.

In the last year, over 26 conference sessions were organised at the event, including discussions on Chinese pharmaceutical market and the emerging global export trends for API China.
