It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) is organizing Asia Pharma Expo 2003 (APE 2003), an international Pharmaceutical exhibition. The biggest of its kind in Bangladesh, the event will be managed and marketed by GPE, a business associate of world renowned trade shows organizer Reed Exhibition Company Ltd. UK.

Since 1972, BAPI has been the only recognized association for pharmaceutical manufacturers in Bangladesh playing pivotal role in the development of pharmaceutical sector. Ninety seven percent of the country''s total demand of pharmaceuticals is currently met by BAPI members.

The event will provide an excellent opportunity for exchanging new ideas and views with experts relating to pharmaceutical development. Renowned speakers have also been invited to discuss on the implications of TRIPS on pharmaceutical industry and how to meet the post-WTO challenges.

I hope the pharmaceutical exhibition will provide a unique opportunity for the SAARC countries in the area of technology & process know-how, Research & Development, Contract manufacturing, Biotechnology & IT.
