CMPi has added the Pharma-ceutical Manufacturing and Equipment Convention - P-MEC India - to its portfolio of Asia pharma services events in 2007. The P-MEC India event will debut in late Q4 next year in Mumbai, staging alongside CPhI India 2007 and the already announced launch of the ICSE India contract services event.
The shows - providing complete coverage of all main pharma services sectors: ingredients, contract services and machinery & equipment - will have the support of Pharmexcil, the Government of India's Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council. The addition of P-MEC India was announced in Paris during the 17th annual CPhI Worldwide show from 3 - 5 October, 2006.
According to Kate Chambers, Group Exhibitions Director for CMPi's Chemical and Pharma Ingredients Group, "Launching P-MEC India alongside CPhI India 07, with the simultaneous debut of ICSE India, completes an integrated and proven trio of pharma events for the fast-growing and increasingly influential South Asia Region. We are delighted to have the co-operation and partnership of Pharmexcil and look forward to working with them closely on our developing plans for the shows."Pharmexcil exhibited at CPhI Worldwide in Paris and will be at the first staging of CPhI India in Mumbai's Bombay Exhibition Centre on 1 - 3 December this year.
The India shows will be managed by a partnership of CMPi and their regional sister companies CMP Asia and CMP India. Typically showcasing chemical analysis, testing, instrumentation, filtration systems, automation and packaging, P-MEC focuses on one of the key challenges in pharma services to develop more efficient production routes and systems for increasingly complex healthcare products.
Staged at the heart of CPhI Worldwide, P-MEC debuted at the 2005 CPhI Worldwide in Madrid. The event enjoyed a highly successful Asia launch in June this year, when it was held with CPhI and ICSE China in Shanghai.
In Europe, 50% of available space for next year's P-MEC Europe, in Milan (2 - 4 October 2007) has already been booked.
