Pam Glatt launches GMPC II in India for tablet coating applications
Pam Glatt, a member of ACG Worldwide, has launched Glatt Multi-Pan Coater (GMPC II) in India. GMPC II is expected to complement the recently launched GC Smart series of high efficiency tablet coating technology. In another move, the company has selected international markets for tablet coating applications.
GMPC II is designed exclusively for lab and pilot scale applications for film and sugar coating on tablets in the same machine, thus making scale up easy. Special design sintered drums are available for pellet coating applications. GMPC II is based on the same principle and technology as of GC Smart, thus making linear scalability to production levels very easy.
Some of the salient features which distinguish GMPC II include:
● Unique airflow pattern
● Fully perforated drums
● GCSD nozzles
● Quick changeover of drums
● Excellent cleanability & GMP compliance
● Same level of PLC control systems with data storage as on production models to facilitate smooth scale up
GMPC II is available with multiple drums to choose from 2 litres, 9 litres, 24 litres and 56 litres, which gives the flexibility of processing small quantities of 750 gm to pilot scale of 30 kg of material in the same machine just by changing the drums. The drum change over is as fast as two minutes.
The unique airflow pattern helps customers achieve higher coating efficiency by eliminating spray drying. The proprietary GCSD spray nozzle system with anti bearding technology and patented nano coating on the caps very well compliment the high efficiency of this machine by avoiding beard formation. Once the coating process is developed on GMPC II, it becomes extremely easy to commercialise the same on GC Smart production models so that customer can benefit from the very high efficiency levels of >98%, extremely fast process cycles and reduction in operating cost.
While GMPC II will help introduce customer's products quickly to the market by shortening the development cycle times, GC Smart will save millions of dollars by reducing the consumption of coating materials and utilities apart from enhancing the productivity multifold.
