The third Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Convention will be held at Indore in Madhya Pradesh on February 19 and 20, 2011. 'Role of Pharmacists in Quality Healthcare - Challenges and Opportunities' will be the theme of this Convention which will be coincided with Madhya Pradesh Pharma Meet 2011, which is a regular event of IPA, MP state branch, Indore. The earlier conventions were held in New Delhi and Chennai respectively.
Organizing committee chairman Dr. Rajendra Sharma said that around 2500 delegates including pharmacy students, teachers, industry and research personnel are expected to attend the convention. Eminent speakers from pharma industries and various academic institutions all over India are being invited to share their thoughts and show new horizons to enhance the sense of responsibility of each and every pharmacist in contributing towards better healthcare.
The whole scientific convention will be carried out under the able governance of Dr. R. S. Gaud, Dean, School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Narsee Monjee University, Mumbai.
There will be a poster presentation session in which about five hundred posters will be presented by pharmacy students and teachers on various researches and review works. Selected topics on original research studies will be delivered in the oral presentation session. About six plenary lectures will also be held on current topics. Seminars will be held on various streams like Industrial Pharmacy and Regulatory Affairs, Hospital and Community Pharmacy, Status of Pharmaceutical Education in India and Indian scenario of Pharmaceutical Research.
One of the new features of the convention will be an exhibition providing an opportunity for manufacturers of laboratory equipments, machineries, pharmaceuticals, along with personnel engaged in pharma softwares, books and career counseling to exhibit their products and services. There will be satellite workshop on current topics and an exclusive session on community pharmacy. Some of the local chemists in and around Madhya Pradesh will also be invited to attend community Pharmacy session.
