Medicall, a three-day exhibition and seminar on hospital equipment and management will be held from August 4th to 7th at Raja Muthiah Hall in Chennai.

The exhibition will have on display hospital equipment, surgical instruments, rescue and emergency equipment, facility management & support services, hospital furniture, diagnostic and laboratory equipment, dental and ophthalmology equipment, medical disposables etc.

The exhibition will act as a sourcing solution platform related to hospital design and construction, hospital staffing service, IT services, communication equipment, medical waste management, medical textiles, financial and health insurance services, office automation equipment and accreditation agencies. Medicall will also have a medical equipment exchange mela, claimed to be the first of its kind in India.

"The exhibition is the first of its kind in Chennai and will have 80 exhibitors in about 90 stalls. We expect more than 1500 delegates in the unique one day seminar which will discuss subjects on equipment purchase and hospital management," said Dr. S Manivannan, executive director, Kavery Medical Centre and Hospital, the organizer of the event.

The event is mainly focused on small and medium hospitals, which account for more than 75% of the total private health care industry, which lacks opportunities to find information about the latest gadgets unless through the occasional representatives who meet them, he added.

The conference programme will cover topics like points to ponder before purchasing an ultrasound machine, annual maintenance contracts and insurance - Myths Demystified, Multiparameter Monitor/Pulse-Oximeter-purchase mantras and titbits about financing for small and medium sized hospital, presented by experts from the industry.
