Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, along with Persistent Systems, the leader in outsourced software product development (OPD) services company and Precision Automation & Robotics India Ltd. (PARI) hosted the two-day long exclusive conference for promoting research in instrumentation and robotics for surgery.

The two day conference will be held at Persistent Systems, Dewang Mehta Auditorium, Pune office on April 7 and 8.

The consultation will bring together a multi-disciplinary community of eminent surgeons, physicians, engineers and computer scientists to discuss latest advances in the field of surgical robotics and medical instrumentation. The sessions will emphasize on promoting collaborative research in this field and will also brainstorm regarding India’s preparedness for building indigenous surgical instrumentation and robots.

Prof. Dr Arun Jamkar, vice chancellor of MUHS made the announcement about the two day conference which will be inaugurated by the Central Minister of Science & Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Vilasrao Deshmukh and pro-chancellor of MUHS & Govt. Maharashtra, Minister of Medical Education Dr Vijaykumar Gavit, while Dr A D Sahasrabudhe, director and professor, College of Engineering, Dr V D Karad, founder and executive president of Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Educational Research, Dr R Thakkedath, vice chancellor, Kochin University of Science & Technology, Kochi and Dr V M Pandharipande, vice chancellor, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad will be the guest of honour for the inauguration.

This conference is spearheaded by Dr Jamkar and Dr Abhay Jere, associate vice president, Life Sciences Business Unit, Persistent Systems.
