3M Healthcare bags Wound Management Company of the Year Award 2012

3M Healthcare, the Healthcare Division of 3M India and one of the leading innovative companies in the country, has bagged the Wound Management Company of the Year Award at the Frost & Sullivan’s 4th Annual India Healthcare Excellence Awards 2012 in Mumbai, acknowledging champions of the industry. These coveted Awards recognized innovative growth strategies and solutions adopted by top companies in the healthcare industry for 2011-12.

Gautam Khanna, executive director-Healthcare Business, 3M India receives the Coveted Wound Management Company of the Year Award by Dr Pankaj Patel, Vascular Surgeon in Mumbai.

3M Healthcare emerged as the winner after being selected and evaluated basis various criteria ranging from revenue generation and market share to technological innovation and clinical excellence, among others. In fact, the efforts undertaken by the company in training the nursing fraternity that has in turn considerably raised the standards of care in wound management, has been instrumental in helping the company earn this recognition.

Speaking on the occasion, Gautam Khanna, executive director-Healthcare Business, 3M India, said, “This award bears testimony to 3M Healthcare’s continuous efforts in ensuring that quality healthcare delivery becomes a norm in the country rather than a privilege limited to a few in the community. We want to empower the various stakeholders within the industry through our tailored initiatives that can enable and nurture an inclusive healthcare environment within the country.”

Speaking about the award, Sandeep Sinha, Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia & Middle East said, “This award is not only a recognition of 3M Healthcare as a company, but has a more holistic appeal, as it touches upon the various initiatives undertaken by the company in terms of enriching and enhancing the knowledge and practice of clinicians. Contribution of 3M Healthcare to the clinical and patient community is one in terms of product and technology advancement, second and more importantly is the role played in imparting best practices amongst the clinical and paramedical community.”

3M’s Collaboration with NABH involves conducting workshops in various cities on educating healthcare providers and facilitators in Surgical Site Infection Prevention, Sterilization Assurance, Care of IV lines - Catheter Related Blood Stream Infection Prevention, Wound Management & Casting Workshops, across India. These workshops have been designed to help create awareness about the quality and standard to be followed by healthcare organizations to match the standards required for NABH accreditation and thus help the Healthcare machinery in the Country.

Additionally, 3M has established R&D and manufacturing facilities in the country resulting in increased localization, reduction in manufacturing costs and better affordability for patients.
