59th Cardiological Society conference in Hyderabad from Dec 5

Hyderabad will host the 59th annual conference of the Cardiological Society of India from December 5 to 9 which will witness the biggest congregation of cardiologists and cardiac surgeons from all over India and abroad. The conference will be held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre.

As many as 5000 delegates are expected to attend. Cardiologists from the US, Europe, Israel and Asian nations will take part in the event. The conference will have multiple parallel symposia to discuss subjects, like the "state-of-the-art treatment of coronary artery disease, current status of drug eluting stents, significance of epidemic of coronary artery disease in India," and "recent modalities of investigations for heart disease," and so on.

According to Dr. K. Sarat Chandra, senior cardiologist of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences and organising secretary of the 59th annual conference of CSI -2007, the conference will be attracting talented cardiologists from India and abroad. He added that there will be emphasis on preventive cardiology and research work on epidemic of coronary artery disease would be discussed.

Dr. Sampath Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology of the Osmania General Hospital said that the conference will have 4 award sessions, 3 orations and several sessions for younger doctors to present their research work. He added that there would be a cardiology quiz during the conference.

The industry which is involved in cardiac imaging, cardiac pharmacology and devices used during angioplasty will have large participation, said Dr. Ramesh Babu, Senior Cardiologist of the Medwin Hospital.
