60th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress in Delhi from December 12 to 14
The 60th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC), the prestigious event of the pharma sector, will be held at the Netaji Subash Chandra Institute of Technology at Dwaraka, a booming township in the National Capital, from December 12 to 14, 2008.
Hosted by the Indian Pharmacy Graduate Association (IPGA), the event having central theme of `Pharma Vision 2020: Regulations for better healthcare' is expected to draw over 5000 delegates. The local organising committee is headed by DCGI Dr Surinder Singh and the organising secretary is IPGA president A K Nasa, as the committee is having who is who of the pharma sector in the national capital and other regions.
Former DCGI Dr M Venkateshwarulu has been named the IPC president as Delhi is hosting the mega event after a long gap. Ranbaxy group has been named the chief patron of the event which also will have the exhibition to be organised by FICCI. The organisers said the preparations have been going on in full swing with all sub-committees working in respective areas and meeting regularly to assess the works.
The previous IPC at Varanasi with `Pharma Vision 2020: product, patient, practice', hosted by the Department of Pharmaceuticals of the Banaras Hindu University saw around 5000 delegates.
