The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER) has commenced its sixth academic session on July 28, 2003. Inaugurated by Prof. Rajesh Kochhar, director, National Institute of Science Technology & Development Studies, this is the first session commenced in the Institute after introduction of the new admission process.
While delivering the inaugural address on the occasion, Prof. Kochhar said that the integration in the use of information and communication technology (ICT) with governance and economy of the country is the primary need today. "It is very important to remember the contributions of Dr. P.C. Roy, Dr. Megnath Saha, Dr. S.N.Bose and Dr. C.V.Raman since the preindependence era of our country in the field of scientific research, at this occasion," he added.
Prof. K.N.Pathak, vice-chancellor, Punjab University, Chandigarh, presided over the session and welcomed the new students to this premier institute from different part of the country. Earlier welcoming the new students Director of the Institute Dr. C.L. Kaul wished them success in their career. Dr. K.K.Bhutani, Dean proposed a vote of thanks.
