7 Chemicals bags contract manufacturing orders worth Rs. 9 crore from Russia, Yemen, Croatia

7 Chemicals, an Ahmedabad-based exporter of pharmaceuticals raw material, finished formulation and chemicals, has bagged contract manufacturing deals worth over Rs.9 crores from Russia, Yemen and Croatia.

The company tied up with the Russian drug major Makig Pharma, Moscow for supplying Meropenem for Alzheimer's diseases, Salbutamol inhaler and a few other products. The $ 1 million deal, signed recently, is to supply one-lakh vials of Meropenem, a costly drug. The company has also tied up with Nizh Pharma, another major Russian company, to supply USD 1.5 million worth Pancreatin for digestive disorders and its APIs. Nizh pharma is the fourth largest company in Russia, Rakesh, director, 7 Chemicals told Pharmabiz.

Rakesh said that the company has also bagged big orders from $ 30-40 million ADECO, the leading company in Yemen and a Croatian global major. While the ADECO order worth about USD 900, 000 is to supply 10 formulations, gloves, IV sets etc., the order from Croatia is valued about USD 2.5 million.

He further added that the company will soon supply patented vaccines manufactured by a Russian biotechnology major for dysentery to three Indian drug majors, Zydus Cadila, Biological Evans and Bharat Biotech. 7 Chemicals is also supplying certain formulations in the EU market manufactured by a leading South African company. The deals would help 7 Chemicals achieve a turnover of over Rs.120 million during the 2005-06 period.

As reported earlier, the pharmaceutical firms which 7 Chemicals entered pact with include Marus, Russia, Saporti, Argentina, Pharmatech GMBH, Germany and Galena, Brasile. OOO Emarus, a Moscow-based pharma company and a few leading pharmaceuticals distributors in Argentina and Brasil had appointed 7 Chemicals as an exclusive sourcing agent in India.

7 Chemicals is into manufacturing a wide range of APIs and formulations like artemisinin albendazole, amlodpine besylate, ampicillin, azithromycin, alprazolam, cephalaosporins, as well as statins and enzymes, anti-diabetics, anti-cancer, anti-asthmatics, steroids etc. The company has been working with Indian counterparts like Aarti Drugs, Unichem, Saraca, Synthokem, Lincoln Pharma, Granulels India, Krebs, Indswift, Kairav and many others. With warehouses in Frankfurt, Germany & Moscow, 7 Chemicals has been doing contract-manufacturing business for the last 3-4 years.
