7 Chemicals signs contract with Pliva for supply of oncology products

7 Chemicals, an Ahmedabad-based bulk drugs manufacturer and exporter recently signed a contract with generic major Pliva for the supply of oncology products like doxorubicin, pacilitaxel, and irinotecan to the company. The value of the contract is worth $ 500,000.

7 Chemicals is a wholly owned company by Rakesh Kumar with manufacturing bases in Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.

The company manufactures a wide range of products like artemisinin albendazole, amlodpine besylate, ampicillin, azithromycin, alprazolam, cephalaosporins, statins, enzymes, anti-diabetics, anti-cancer, anti-asthmatics, and steroids.

It has tie-ups with companies in Russia, Armenia, Dubai, South Africa, Argentina and Brazil. It also supplies APIs to Indian companies like Aarti Drugs, Unichem, Saraca, Synthokem, Lincoln Pharma, Granules India, Krebs, and Indswift.

For the year ended March 2005, 7 Chemicals achieved sales of Rs 12 crore and net profit of Rs 2.5 crore, said Rakesh Kumar.
