8th Dr John Kapoor’s M L Khorana Memorial Seminar held in Pune

8th Dr John Kapoor’s Prof. M L Khorana Memorial Seminar was organized on March 20, 2004 at Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Educational Research’s (MAEER) Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy, Pune.

The theme of the Seminar was “Advances in Herbal Technology: Global Scenario & Challenges”.

Dr M Venkateswaralu, deputy drugs controller, Mumbai was the chief guest for the seminar and Juzar Khorakiwala, chairman and managing director, Biostadt Ltd., was the guest of honour. Prof. Dr V D Karad, executive president/founder, MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology and UNESCO Chair Holder for Human Rights, Democracy and Peace for South East Asia presided over the function.

Dr S R Parakh, principal, MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy welcomed the guests. Prof. S J Bhide, secretary, Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Educational Research proposed a vote of thanks.

The second session of the seminar was marked by the deliberations of noted personalities like Dr Ashok Vaidya, Medical and Research director of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s Swami Prakashananda Ayurvedic Research Center (SPARC), Dr Narendra Bhatt, CEO, Zandu Pharmaceuticals Works Ltd; Dr SG Kane, an reputed Ayurvedic scholar and Dr Bhushan Patwardhan, Director, School of Health Sciences, University of Pune.

The seminar was jointly organized by Prof. M L Khorana Fund Committee, Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy and Indian Pharmaceutical Association and University of Pune
