Aarti Drugs' net up by 16% in FY'09

Aarti Drugs, a Mumbai based Rs 375 crore plus pharmaceutical company, has posted better performance during the year ended March 2009 and declared equity dividend of 30 per cent on equity capital of Rs 11.71 crore. The company's consolidated net profit moved up by 16.2 per cent to Rs 15.97 crore from Rs 13.74 crore in the previous year. Its consolidated net sales increased by 22.3 per cent to Rs 382.12 crore from Rs 312.36 crore. The earning per share for the year worked out to Rs 13.64 as against Rs 11.73 in the last period.

Aarti's profit before interest, depreciation and taxation went up sharply by 41 per cent to Rs 64.88 crore from Rs 45.99 crore. Its interest cost increased by 89 per cent to Rs 24.35 core from Rs 12.88 crore. Its tax provision also increased to Rs 8.47 crore from Rs 5.28 in the previous year.
