Abbott India appoints Vivek Mohan as senior director & Rehan A Khan as MD effective from May 15

Abbott India Limited has appointed Vivek Mohan as senior director to a global role for Abbott and Rehan A Khan as new managing director effective from May 15. The appointment was approved by the Board of Directors, at a Board meeting held today in Mumbai.

Rehan A Khan is currently the general manager and country head of Abbott Nutrition, India, a position he has held since 2009.

Vivek Mohan currently the managing director, Abbott India Limited has been named as senior director, Global Integrated Health, Established Pharmaceuticals Division, Abbott. Vivek will report into Michael Warmuth, senior vice president, Established Pharmaceuticals Division, Abbott. This new position will work across the diverse Abbott business divisions to develop and execute a distinct integrated offering and drive leadership in key therapeutic areas such as diabetes and women and children's health; creating value for patients and customers.

Announcing the appointments, Michael Warmuth said, “We recognise the contributions made by Vivek Mohan in leading Abbott India operations through major transformations, building it into one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in India. The establishment of this new position with a global scope, based out of India, reflects Abbott’s recognition of the talent in India and the importance of India to Abbott's businesses. Rehan will further Abbott India’s strategy to increase access - meeting medical needs, ensuring the healthcare community receives appropriate information and ensuring patients have access to our medicines -- making a difference to the quality of lives of people.”
