Acurian inks pact with i3 to offer improved site identification for customers
Acurian, Inc, a leading, full-service provider of patient recruitment and retention solutions, announced that it entered into an agreement with pharmaceutical services company i3 to offer improved site identification and selection to its customers. Through the agreement, Acurian will provide site selection support to trial sponsors via i3’s services that offer statistics for improved planning and identification of trial sites with the most patients.
According to Rick Malcolm, Acurian’s CEO, partnering with i3 enables Acurian to immediately provide a natural complement to its core business of patient recruitment. “Acurian is responding to strong customer demand for additional solutions,” stated Malcolm. “Partnering with well-respected, data-driven organization like i3 enables us to fulfill a critical piece of the recruitment solutions continuum.”
Acurian already offers pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies with requisite trial support services ranging from protocol feasibility, to patient recruitment, to patient retention. The agreement with i3 enables Acurian to provide an objective and actionable approach to site selection via a large database of information relating to private insurance claims, backed by the reputable i3 brand.
Through i3, Acurian can query 78,000 investigators and pinpoint only those sites that have the exact patient type for specific protocols by aligning inclusion/exclusion criteria with patient diagnoses, prescription regimens, and other salient data points searchable in filed claims documents. In addition, the data offers investigator ranking based on recent clinical trial experience, another key indicator of a site’s ability to successfully enrol patients.
“Good site selection is a fundamental building block for a successful clinical trial,” continued Malcolm. “We are committed to helping sponsors gain a competitive site recruiting advantage through a robust and objective data set that highlights those study physicians with the most patients and trial experience relative to a specific protocol.”
Acurian is a leading full-service provider of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention solutions for the life sciences industry.
