Agilent Technologies Inc has introduced the Agilent 1120 Compact LC, an easy-to-use, small-footprint, highly reliable liquid chromatograph (LC) tailored for the Asian market and best suited for small-to medium-size laboratories. The new instrument is offered in five preconfigured versions and is the first integrated LC in the current Agilent LC portfolio. The system will be distributed mainly via partners in order to fully support the new customers. The Agilent 1120 Compact LC is available for order in China, India and Japan, with shipments scheduled to start in February 2008.

Ltd. It is designed to quickly begin running samples right out of the box with minimal set up, and to deliver dependable results day in and day out for routine analyses. Every instrument is thoroughly tested in its final configuration before it is shipped, demonstrating traditional Agilent quality, he said.

The instrument is primarily targeted to small to medium-size laboratories doing routine testing in environmental analysis, food safety testing, hydrocarbon processing, QA/QC of fine chemicals, Indian herbal medicine analysis and pharmaceutical QA/QC.

The Agilent 1120 Compact LC simplifies laboratory work by optimizing performance and minimizing complexity. The complete solution features improvements in the user interface, operation procedures, new software, new columns, and associated services to provide measurable gains in quality of results, ease of use and uptime. System specifications vary by configuration, but key features are: Hardware choices such as isocratic or binary pump, manual injector or vial autosampler, column oven and variable wavelength detector. Additional flexibility is offered through the optional addition of Agilent 1200 Series refractive index, fluorescence or evaporative light scattering detectors.

New Agilent EZChrom Elite Compact software, which provides full control of up to two Agilent 1120 Compact LCs from a single PC. EZChrom Elite Compact includes comprehensive data processing, flexible reporting and a full range of capabilities that users expect from a modern chromatography workstation. EZChrom Elite Compact is scalable from a single user to an enterprise data system, and is available in English, Chinese and Japanese.
