All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has identified Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research (DIPS) as a host institution for its National Doctoral Fellowship (NDF) Scheme.
The NDF is a new scheme launched by AICTE under which doctoral fellowships will be offered to selected candidates in emerging areas/ disciplines of technical education by AICTE to pursue doctoral programme. The DIPS has been recognized as one such host institution in the field of pharmacy.
As per the programme, candidates who are admitted or seeking admission to any such host institutions can apply for the fellowship. The selected student would get a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per month. There is also a contingency grant of Rs 25, 000 per annum per candidate. The scheme also provides for an overhead allowance of Rs 20,000 per student per annum to the host institution.
The NDF is in pursuance of the policy framework for promotion of post- graduate education and research in technical education of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The DIPS, formerly known as College of Pharmacy, was started in 1972 and is one among the best pharmacy institutions in the country. The college was renamed as DIPS as part of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi's plans to elevate its status to that of autonomous institute.
