AIPS & SciTech Centre to organise seminar on 'Drafting Patents for EPO' on March 12 in Mumbai
Mumbai-based, The Academy of Intellectual Property Studies (AIPS), an institute that has been set up in affiliation with the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) and SciTech Centre are jointly organising a seminar on 'Drafting Patents for the European Patent Office (EPO)' on March 12, 2013 at the Centre in Mumbai.
The main aim is to explore EPO case laws surrounding the four pillars of its patent practice of priority, novelty and added subject matter, and the conclusions which will be used to draw out some good practices for initial application drafting.
This seminar will also study the European Patent Office (EPO) attitudes to the issues of priority, novelty, added subject matter and obviousness, their impact, and how they should influence patent drafting such that there is consistency with European patent law and practice.
Nigel Sanderson, partner Harrison Goddard Foote, UK has invited as guest faculty for further interaction in the seminar.
Points and tips on patent drafting will be embedded in each of the presentations, and the faculty will also take the participants through specially designed group exercises that will reinforce the learning points.
The symposia is designed for the intellectual property rights (IPR) related persons and patent attorneys, business development advisors etc.
