Unichem Laboratories Ltd recorded a sales income of Rs1224.43 million as compared to Rs 1083.48 million in the previous year, registering a growth of 7.4%. Net profit stood at Rs 174.55 millions as compared to Rs 146.00 million. This translates to annualised EPS of Rs.20.48 in FY06 as against Rs. 17.12 in FY05.

Unichem's subsidiary Nice Generics Limited recorded sales of GBP 2.76 million in Q2 FY 06 as compared to GBP 2.41 million during Q2FY05.

Unichem's total income for the half year ending September30, 2005 is at Rs 2518.01 million as compared to Rs 2431.68 million for the half year ending September30, 2004, recording a growth of 3.6%. The net profit for the half year ending September30, 2005 stood at Rs 497.36 million as compared to 290.04 million during the corresponding period.

Anand Yashavant Mahajan was appointed as an additional director on the board of the company. Mahajan is presently the Managing Director of Grindwell Norton Ltd., and also a General Delegate for India, Srilanka and Bangladesh at Compagnie de Saint-Gobain.
