Allot 1000 acres of land for SSIs at concessional rate: BDMA to AP govt
The Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association has asked the Andhra Pradesh Government to allot 1000 acres of land near Pharma City in Visakhapatnam at concessional rate to Small and medium scale units as they cannot afford to acquire land at the present rates. These units will develop it as a cooperative venture on cost-to-cost basis.
The Association has also asked the State Government to defer Sales Tax for 14 years, subsidise the cost of land and provide income tax and power tariff concessions for a period of 10 years.
In addition to this, BDMA has also requested the government to provide subsidies to reduce the cost of infrastructure facilities at Pharma City which is being developed by Ramky Pharma (India) Ltd at Parawada near Visakhapatnam. It is learnt that AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has allocated land to Ramky at about Rs 5 lakh per acre, whereas Ramky is charging Rs 20 lakh per acre for offering infrastructure facilities to bulk drug companies, which has been found expensive by companies. BDMA has also requested the government to nominate APIIC and BDMA as coordinators of the Pharma City project.
