American Assn of Govt College of Pharmacy Alumni to host 13th STARS award on Nov 10, 2016

American Association of Government College of Pharmacy (Bengaluru) Alumni, New York, USA will organise the 13th STARS  (Sri Subbaraya Setty Teacher And Research Students) awards in Pharmaceutical Sciences on November 10, 2016. The event will be held at the GM Rejoyz Digital Auditorium, Bengaluru.
 
Professor Ramesh K . Goyal, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University, Delhi has consented to be the chief guest and will present the Teacher Award. This year’s winner is Dr. HN Shiva Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, KLE University's College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, & Director-Research, Institute for Drug Delivery and Biomedical Research, Bengaluru. He will receive the STARS Award 2016 for Teachers for 'Excellence in Academic Research' which is in recognition of his merit in academic research and motivating young pharmacy students.
 
Prof. V. Prakash, President, International Society for Naturals, Nutraceuticals & Nutritionals and former Director of CFTRI along with BT Khanapure, Karnataka drugs controller are the guests of honour.
 
Eight post graduate students of Government College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, will receive the 'PG Research Grants' from 'STARS, Sharada-Sally & Dr. Narasimha Murthy & ‘Golden Jubilee Awards for Research Students’.
 
Besides, two B. Pharm students of the final year will receive 'Nadipuram Merit Scholarship' for Community Services in Patient Counselling.
 
The awards are funded by Chandramohan Haranahalli (New York) in memory of his father Subbaraya Setty. The other who have chipped in for the award grant are Mohan Nadipuram (New Jersey), Dr. Sreekant Murthy (Pennsylvania), and Dr. S. Narasimha Murthy (Mississippi).
 
Also present will be Dr. K. P. Ravindra, President, AAGCPA, USA and Dr. G. Jagadeesh, scientific coordinator, AAGCPA, USA.
