AmerisourceBergen names Leonardo DeCandia as senior VP

AmerisourceBergen Corporation, one of the largest pharmaceutical services companies in the U.S., named Leonardo (Len) DeCandia, 44, senior vice president, Supply Chain Management, effective immediately.

In this new role, Mr. DeCandia will help lead the delivery of value added services to our manufacturer and healthcare provider partners including the procurement of all products and services within the AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation. He will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and integrity of the supply chain and for driving the continued evolution in supplier relationships. DeCandia will report directly to Terrance Haas, president, AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation.

DeCandia brings to AmerisourceBergen over 22 years of experience on the manufacturer side of the pharmaceutical supply channel. He was most recently vice president, chief sourcing officer, Supply Chain at Hoffmann-LaRoche Inc. Prior to his career at Hoffman-LaRoche, he spent 14 years with Johnson & Johnson.

During the course of his extensive career, DeCandia has been responsible for engineering, product management, sourcing, procurement, materials management, and logistics.

DeCandia earned both his BS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from Rutgers University.
