AMTZ, Directorate of Medical Education jointly form AVISHCAR towards accessible healthcare
Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone Ltd. (AMTZ), Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), and Directorate of Medical Education recently entered in a futuristic and strategic collaboration named as Advance Identification of Scientific Technology and Commissioning Roadmap (AVISHCAR).
The overall vision of AVISHCAR is to improve the technology transfer and reach of health services that are dependent on complex technologies. The strategic partnership conceptualized by Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) with SAMEER was launched in presence of Union Minister for Electronics & IT Ravi Shankar Prasad.
While SAMEER and AMTZ shall jointly identify private companies for technology transfers, AMTZ shall extend support through provision of scientific facilities, due to low cost of R&D and production, the scheme AVISHCAR has the potential to drastically change the cost of care.
AVISHCAR is a strategic programme to bring together relevant stakeholders to jointly harness the growing potential of medical technology research in public sector institutions and promotion of Indian medical devices manufacturing industry with its positive impact on the health outcomes of Indian citizens.
Each player has a unique role for the success of this ecosystem. SAMEER comes with extensive research and development experience in the field of Microwave Engineering and Electromagnetic Engineering Technology and shall be responsible for Technology Transfer.
AMTZ- Asia’s first medical device manufacturing zone would provide for manufacturing support and Department of Medical Education would give an advance market by adopting the identified technologies. The joint and comprehensive industrial program shall be conducted by SAMEER and AMTZ especially in the field of complex medical equipment such as Linear Accelerator.
Prasad applauded the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone and also the strategic partnership with SAMEER. On the occasion Poonam, principal secretary explained the linkage between service delivery and industry promotion. Dr. Jitendar Sharma gave a brief overview of the partnership and explained the potential of collective and coherent synergy.
Also present on the occasion were minister of state for electronics & IT PP Choudhary, senior officers of ministry of science & technology including secretary Aruna Sundarajanan, principal secretary (Health), government of Andhra Pradesh, CEO of AMTZ Dr. Jitendar Sharma and scientists of SAMEER.
