This year's analytica Anacon India Conference, the international trade fair and conference for analytical instrumentation, biotechnology, laboratory technology and services ,which will feature 20 lectures, will be held at Hyderabad from September 29 to October 1, 2009 .

The scientific topics covered at the conference will include the latest and future industry developments and showcase new solutions for the market. The conference will focus on the sectors for biotechnology, life sciences and quality control. The participation of international speakers like Dr. John Gebler, Waters India Pvt Ltd India, Dr. Zhan Zhaoqi, Shimadzu Asia Pacific Ltd Singapore and Dr Fredrik Sundberg, GE Healthcare Lifesciences Ltd Sweden, emphasize the importance of the conference.

"Growing interest in the conference demonstrates that the analytica concept and its consistent orientation to science and industry also work in India," says Klaus Dittrich, managing director at Messe München GmbH. Despite the general economic crisis, Dr. G Ramakrishnan, president of the Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA), which is organizing the conference again this year, says the industry is extremely positive of this event. "Research in India's life-science sector is now at its highest point ever. During the next five years, the government wants to invest 1.1 billion euros in the growth and expansion of this branch of industry. The analytica conference is an important platform that promotes the exchange between science and industry in this important sector in India", he adds.

"Until now, the number of applications being submitted has been the best since the existence of analytica Anacon India, and we expect the number of exhibitors to be the same as or possibly even exceed the number that we had the last time that this event was held," says Kurt Schraudy, managing director of IMAG (Internationaler Messe und Ausstellungsdienst), a subsidiary of Messe München International and organizer of analytica Anacon India. "This development demonstrates that this event has established itself as an industry platform in India since it was founded seven years ago."

About 142 exhibitors from 14 countries were represented at analytica Anacon India in 2007. Companies registered for the 2009 exhibition include international key accounts such as Agilent, Dionex, Eppendorf and Thermo Fischer as well as several first-time exhibitors from India and abroad such as Joel Asia Pte. Ltd (Singapore), Showa Denko K.K. (Japan) and TharSFC (a Water Company, USA).
Among other things, large contingents of exhibitors are expected from China and Germany. 15 German companies participating in a joint exhibit with 198 m² will present their products and new developments in the sectors for laboratory technology and analysis. And the large number of Chinese exhibitors - approximately 10 companies in all - shows that China will demonstrate a great deal of innovative strength at this year's analytica Anacon India.
