Ankur Drugs posts impressive growth in Q1

Ankur Drugs and Pharmaceutical Drugs, a forerunner in the business of contract manufacturing, achieved an excellent financial performance during the first quarter ended June 2006. Its net sales went up sharply to Rs 60.45 crore from Rs 16.79 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net profit surged to Rs 5.83 crore from Rs 0.86 crore. With strong growth in bottom line, its earning per share touched to Rs 6.13 as against Rs 0.91 in the lat period.

The company has implemented expansion programme during 2005 and invested Rs 14.22 crore. Its associated concern commenced commercial operations at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, where Ankur Drugs started business on loan licence basis. The company is investing significant amount to set up US FDA compliant plant at Baddi, wherein manufacture of high value products for direct exports shall be under taken on behalf of global pharma multinational.
