The Green Milk Concepts, the herbal division of the Chennai-based Apex Laboratories Ltd, plans to expand its product range and market field along with introduction of some line extension products in the financial year 2006-07.
The three products in segments like paediatrics, gynaecology and arthritis are undergoing clinical trials in University of Madras, Kasthurba Medical College at Manipal and with various gynaecologists in South India. These products will be launched before March 2007, according to S Prabhakar, head, herbal division, Apex Laboratories limited.
Green Milk, which crossed Rs.1 crore business in the first ten months through ethical sales, would commence marketing in Maharashtra by August 2007. "We are focusing north Indian market from the current financial year and envisages to commence marketing in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi and Rajasthan soon," Prabhakar told Pharmabiz.
The company will introduce the syrup and drops form of its existing Clearliv, drug for curing lever disorders and the syrup form of Immunit immuno-modulator capsule in August 2006.
The proposals to commence a herbal drug manufacturing plant at Tamil Nadu is under consideration, in which the liquid manufacturing plant is planned to be finalized by the next financial year, according to the company source. The company is also exploring the possibilities of exporting to markets like Singapore, Malaysia and Middle East.
