Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad and e-Seva have tied up to extend medical services in AP. Dr Kodela Sivaprasad Rao, minister for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, formally launched the services at e-Seva Kendra, Khairatabad (in Hyderabad) recently.
Rao said, the tie-up between Apollo Hospitals and e-Seva is a fine example of public-private partnership. He noted that the e-Seva has revolutionized application of information technology for the benefit of common man. Government has been spending crores of rupees on primary, secondary and tertiary care in the state and hoped that the venture of e-Seva and Apollo hospitals would reach healthcare to remote areas.
The government has been encouraging private hospitals’ participation in trauma care, blood banks, HIV control etc., he added.
Dr Prathap Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said Apollo Hospitals and the consultants at the hospitals have been extending free tele-consultations to deserving people across the country.
It is the first time that health services are being extended through e-Seva. This facility would be extended in stages from Hyderabad to other municipalities and e-Seva intends to establish 6000 rural e-Seva centres and make one crore families to utilize e-Seva services by June end. At present AP has 120 services being offered through e-Seva, said e-Seva director, Praveen Prakash.
