Apollo Health to set up 200 clinics across country, opens first in Hyderabad

After establishing its network of clinics in all major cities and towns across the country, Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd, in association with Chavan Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. headed by Mahesh Chavan, launched a specialized day-to-day healthcare centre at Tarnaka in Hyderabad. The clinic is its first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh.

This is a part of its plan to expand the operations in next two years. During the course the group will set up more than 200 such clinics across the country. It is expected that each clinic will account a turnover of Rs 60 lakh to Rs 2.5 crore per annum. The investment is expected to be around Rs 2 crore per clinic.

The clinic will offer a comprehensive healthcare service under one roof at an affordable charges. Apart from specialist consultation service, the clinic also provides diagnostic facilities, specially designed preventive health check-up packages, a well-stocked 24 hours pharmacy, dental service and round-the -clock emergency services as well as corporate client services.

According to Dr Prathap C Reddy, executive chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, country like ours requires a strong primary healthcare infrastructure. As a leading healthcare service provider, the only way to ensure a healthier population is to make quality day-to-day healthcare service accessible to everyone. The Apollo Clinics is a radical step in that direction.

Echoing the initiative, Ratan Jalan, CEO, Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd, 'Our studies and research findings have indicated that there exists a need for a comprehensive day-to-day healthcare requirement in the country. We intend to utilise Apollo's expertise, standards and cost competitiveness to tap into this immense opportunity, primarily through the franchise route'' told press persons here.

The idea is to supplement our expertise in the healthcare domain with the franchise's understanding of the local market' he added.

Apollo Clinics reinforces the unique positioning in relation to a hospital or other stand-alone clinics and diagnostic centres. Since inception, Apollo Clinic has underscored the importance of both clinic and non-clinical aspects of service delivery and thus the experience it provides is based on performance and value for money, he maintained.

Appreciating the concept, S K Raja, senior vice-president and site leader, GENPACT said, "Without any doubt, there are enough healthcare service providers in this city, even in the clinic context.
