Apollo Hospitals net profits zooms by 41% in Q3

Apollo Hospital Enterprise, a Rs.2,300 crore plus healthcare group with over 8,500 beds across 53 hospitals within and outside India, has achieved impressive performance during the third quarter ended December 2011. Its net profit has taken a quantum jump to Rs.64.65 crore from Rs.45.81 crore in the corresponding period of last year, representing a strong growth of 41.1 per cent. Its income from services increased by 19 per cent to Rs.714.75 crore from Rs.600.87 crore. EBDITA moved up by 29.6 per cent to Rs.128.75 crore from Rs.99.34 crore. The earnings per share for the quarter improved to Rs.4.89 from Rs.2.70 in the last period.

Its income from healthcare services improved by 14.6 per cent to Rs.490.28 crore from Rs.427.68 crore and that of pharmacy division went up by 29.6 per cent to Rs.224.63 crore from Rs.173.35 crore. Consequent to the allotment of 30.89 lakh equity shares of face value of Rs.5 each to promoter at a price of Rs.385.88 per share, its equity capital increased to Rs.67.23 crore from Rs.65.69 crore.

Apollo's net income for the nine months ended December 2011, increased by 20.2 per cent to Rs.2,056 crore from Rs.1,711 crore in the similar period of last year. Its income from healthcare services moved up by 16.3 per cent to Rs.1433 crore from Rs.1,232 crore and that from pharmacy division up by 30 per cent to Rs.622.86 crore. Its net profit jumped by 27.5 per cent to Rs.171.68 crore from Rs.134.63 crore. EBDITA also increased by 23 per cent to Rs.366.03 crore.
